Buying a kitten Prices and deposits Kitten package

Kitten package

When you buy a Sittingpretty kitten, you receive the following package:

A socialised kitten
From birth, our kittens get lots of love and attention and are played with daily, promoting their bonding skills and socialising them ready for their new homes.

A litter trained kitten
Our kittens leave us fully litter trained having been taught by mum and by us (although kittens do get over excited and can have accidents).

A vaccinated kitten
Our kittens are vaccinated at 9 weeks old and again at 12 weeks old (new owners are responsible for yearly booster vaccinations from this point).

The vaccinations protect your kitten against the threatening disease of Feline Leukemia, Cat Flu and Feline Enteritis.

A vet checked kitten
We allow our kittens to leave us following their second vaccination. By this time your kitten will have been vet checked at least twice.

A worm/flea/parasite treated kitten
As soon as our kittens are old enough and heavy enough, we first treat them with Milbemax.
And before leaving us, our kittens are treated with Stronghold Spot on.

Milbemax worming tablets and Stronghold Spot on parasite control

Milbemax is an oral tablet for the treatment of mixed infections with roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms, and the prevention of heart worm disease.

Stronghold Spot on is a highly effective treatment for fleas, roundworms, hookworms, heart worm, biting lice, sarcoptic mange and ear mites.

An Insured kitten
In conjunction with Pet Plan we provide 4 weeks free insurance for new owners (of kittens under 1 year old). Upon collecting/receiving your kitten, we will activate your instant policy. Cover includes:

A microchipped kitten
As my husband and I are qualified microchip implanters with pet-detect®, we offer (free) microchipping with them as part of our kitten sales.

Microchipping qualification certificates

The pet-detect® microchipping system is reliable and fully compliant with the ISO regulations (11784/5) in effect for the United Kingdom and Europe. It is recognised as one of the best chip systems you can use!

In dogs and cats and small 'furries', the chip sits in the fatty tissue just under the skin and is totally inert - no batteries, no magnets and no moving parts.

The pet-detect® microchip has the least amount of components than any other brand. It is made in Germany and reliability is built in.

A registered kitten
We are a TICA registered cattery and prefix and choose to register all of our cats, kittens and litters with TICA. When buying a cat or kitten from us, you are entitled to their official registration papers. This is proof that your cat/kitten and their dam and sire are full pedigree and registered.

Tica blue slip

Once a litter reaches 6 weeks old, we send a mating certificate to TICA. This registers the litter as a whole and in return we receive an amount of 'blue slips*' (one per kitten). We will complete the slip on your behalf but it is your responsibility to send it to TICA should you wish to have the kitten registered in your name etc.

If you are buying a kitten as a pet you will receive the blue slip upon receipt of proof of neutering/spaying (at six months old) and your kitten will be placed on the non-active register.

If you are buying a kitten for breeding purposes you will receive the paperwork upon collection/receipt of your kitten. Your kitten will be placed on the active register.

* TICA now have an online system for registration where blue slips have been replaced by 'Breeder slips'.

A kitten pack
Our kittens also leave us with a small but complimentary kitten pack. This includes (contents may vary):

A food sample
A toy
A detailed four or five generation pedigree
Advisory literature
